Cleaner in a work polo and gloves wiping a window frame in a sunlit Lisbon flat

Straight up

What this brand is, and what it is not

There are already several English-language cleaning brands in this city, and most of them sound identical. So here is the difference stated plainly rather than implied: this one does not hold a mop.

You set the rhythm

A flat that needs three hours every Tuesday is a completely different arrangement from a villa emptied twice a year. The form asks which of the two you are, because that single answer decides who is even worth contacting.

An independent business does the work

Whoever arrives runs their own registered company or works for one. They set their price, issue their own invoice with IVA and answer for the result. Nothing is marked up through this site and no commission sits in the middle.

An honest no beats a maybe

Cleaning is not an emergency trade. Nobody has to pretend a van is idling around the corner. If nobody covering your street can take a Thursday morning slot, you will be told that, and you can go elsewhere with your afternoon intact.

How it works

From a form to a key in somebody's hand

Four steps. The first one is yours and takes about a minute; the rest are ours until you and the cleaning business are talking directly.

01

Send the property

Area, size, and whether this is a standing arrangement or a one-off. If there are stairs and no lift, say so — it changes who says yes.

02

We read it before passing it on

A handover clean before an inspection and a regular Tuesday slot need different people. Sending both to the same company wastes everybody's morning.

03

You get a name

We hand the request to a business covering your area and tell you who it is. From that point the conversation is between the two of you.

04

They price it, you decide

The number comes from them, before anyone starts, and you are free to say no. Nothing on this site commits you to anything.

What it costs

What cleaning costs in Lisbon, from published sources

This city has two prices for the same hour of work, and almost nobody says so out loud. Here are both, taken from public price pages, so you can sanity-check whatever you are quoted.

By the job — what people report paying

  • One-off clean · 3–4 hours€30–60
  • A weekly slot, per month€150–450
  • After renovation, whole job€240–400

By the hour — two markets, one city

  • Portuguese-language market€8–15
  • English-language segment€16.90

Indication from public price pages, not a quote. The hourly figures come from spicandspan.pt, idealista.pt and zaask.pt; the monthly figure from viplimpezas.pt; the after-renovation figure from Zaask, Habitissimo, lipclean and fixhomeservicios. All read in August 2026. The full breakdown, including why the two hourly figures differ, is on the cleaning prices page.

Three different jobs

Almost every request is one of these

They look similar from the outside and are priced, staffed and scheduled completely differently. Knowing which one you are speeds everything up.

  • A standing slot in a home — the same hours every week or fortnight, usually with a key involved. Lowest price per visit, highest value over a year, and the arrangement most people are actually looking for. See home cleaning.
  • Turnover between short-let guests — a fixed window between one checkout and the next check-in, linen included, and no room to run late. Covered on the short-let turnover page.
  • The clean after building work — dust in places dust should not reach, plaster on the floor and a handover date. The heaviest job in the niche: see post-renovation cleaning.
  • Handing a rented flat back — driven by an inspection and a deposit rather than by comfort, and usually booked for a specific hour. That is end-of-tenancy cleaning.
  • An office or a small commercial space — done outside working hours, on a contract, invoiced to a company. Different buyer, different questions: office cleaning.
  • A one-off deep clean — spring cleaning, a flat before a viewing, a place that has been shut up all winter. No commitment, no schedule, just one long day.
Where this works

Greater Lisbon, and the parts of it that behave differently

Distance matters more in this trade than in almost any other, because a three-hour job does not survive a forty-minute journey each way. Cleaning businesses build routes, not call-outs — so the honest answer about coverage depends on which street you are on, not which municipality.

Before you send anything

The questions people ask first

So who actually turns up at the door?

Somebody who works for an independent cleaning business registered in Portugal, not for this website. You get their name before they come. This site has no employees who clean, owns no equipment and takes no margin on the price you agree with them.

Am I signing up to anything by sending the form?

No. Sending the form costs nothing and commits you to nothing, including the price you are later given. If you do not like the number, or the day offered, or the person you speak to, you simply do not book. There is no cancellation fee for something that was never booked.

What do I need to have ready before a first visit?

Three things save the most time: the exact address with floor and door number, whether there is a lift, and a realistic idea of the size in rooms or square metres. If there are pets, a fragile floor, or a room that should be left alone, say that at the start rather than on the doorstep.

Do I have to be at home while the work is done?

Most standing arrangements in this city run with a key or a code, and the household is out. For a first visit it is worth being there for the first twenty minutes to walk through the place and point out what matters to you. After that, being present is optional and most people stop.

What happens if something gets broken or goes missing?

Raise it with the business directly and immediately — they are the party with the relationship and, if they have one, the liability cover. Ask about that cover before you hand over a key rather than after. Tell us as well: a business that handles a problem badly stops receiving requests from here.

Why does this site show no reviews or star ratings?

Because there are none yet that would be honest to publish. Inventing them, or recycling somebody else's, is the standard trick in this category and it is not one we are going to copy. When there are real ones from real requests, they will appear with the name of the business that earned them.

Rather just ask

Send a photo of the place instead

Two pictures of a kitchen tell a cleaning business more about the job than a form ever will. WhatsApp is the fastest route in.
